Overview

When looking for an occupational therapy clinic, it is important to find a good fit for the whole family. At Kids First we will walk you through the steps and discuss your expectations to provide the ultimate care and occupational therapy treatment for your children. We provide OT assessment and intervention sessions through a family-centered approach, and help to facilitate community integration for your child.

 

Assessment

Includes the use of standardized assessment tools and clinical observations to investigate your child’s level of function in the following areas:

  • Gross and Fine Motor Skills
  • Sensory Processing
  • Visual Processing
  • Reflex Integration
  • Emotional Regulation

 

Intervention

Consists of 1:1 occupational therapy sessions, with 45-50 minutes of direct treatment time spent with your child, 5-10 minutes to debrief each session with the parent/caregiver, and 5 minutes to document the session.

 

Integration

Involves working with the child’s family and all other professionals involved in your child’s development to ensure success in many environments. The pediatric occupational therapists at Kids First can assist with the following:

  • Parent Education
  • Consultation with other medical professionals
  • Education/training of support staff
  • Educational presentations for school staff
