Kids First Pediatric Therapy
Who We Are
Through therapeutic relationships we allow children to reach their full potential
Our Vision is to provide safe and effective therapeutic relationships through which children can learn to understand themselves and build the skills necessary for success
We are a pediatric occupational therapy clinic providing services for children from birth to age 18 in the Greater Vancouver Area, including Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Surrey, and Richmond. Our pediatric occupational therapists are registered providers through COTBC and CAOT. Kids First Pediatric Therapy is family and client-centered, where goals focus on what is important to the child and their family.
Guided by Sensory-Processing and Neurodevelopmental frameworks, current clientele consist primarily of children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Anxiety disorders, ADHD, and PTSD.
What We Do
We enable children to build and develop the necessary skills to be successful in their day to day life.

“We have had the pleasure of knowing Deb Lightman for a year and a half. She has gone above and beyond working as an OT with our daughter Sophia. Deb expands her knowledge to better help her clients and is very dedicated to help each family/child in any way she can. The transformation in Sophia from when we first started working with Deb is more than a miracle. We are so happy to have found Deb and have her being apart of Sophia's team. We have recommended her to several other families and will continue to do so.”
"Deb Lightman is a wonderful Occupational Therapist, and an invaluable member of my son's special education team. She truly “gets” how to work with him and he loves his sessions with her, even as she pushes him out of his comfort zone. As a parent, she has listened to my concerns, guided with expert knowledge, and has met and strategized with other professionals on our team to ensure that my son gets the sensory support he needs in all environments. She is a gem with children. I feel as if we lucked out finding Deb. I can't imagine a more caring, and well qualified OT for my family, and have/would recommend her to all those seeking an OT. If you have a chance to work with her, jump on the opportunity."
"Deb has worked with our son for the past 3 years and has opened many windows for him (self regulation, engagement, gross and fine motor skills). She has taught him and our family so much, and has been an excellent resource."
“Deb was the first person we hired to be part of our team and from the very beginning, she has been nothing but wonderful to our son. He has come a long way since she first started working with him. She has been instrumental in giving him the confidence he now has to be able to move, play and be safe. Without her, we wouldn't have known anything about spatial and body awareness or even sensory issues. She genuinely cares for her families - she not only helps our son, but the whole family and we are tremendously grateful for all she has done to help us on our journey. I highly recommend Deb to all new families looking for an OT.”
“Deb is an amazing occupational therapist and a wonderful support to our family in dealing with the difficulties and challenges we face on a daily basis. Our son has made significant progress with the assistance of Deb, which has given him the benefit of experiencing aspects of childhood he previously could not experience given his issues and challenges. Deb's professional and caring demeanor toward our son make every visit an enjoyable yet therapeutic one. Deb has consistently gone over and above our expectations in an OT and she is such a valuable person in our lives. I honestly don’t know where we would be without her some days.”
“Having Deb on Team Noah these past 3 years has been AWESOME. The progress that he has made and the trust he has in Deb has been wonderful to witness. Also evident is the pride she takes in her work and the sheer delight on both their faces when our son masters a new skill or accomplishes a task. The support and advice we receive from Deb has been invaluable. Looking back we know we made the right choice for our child and as any parent knows…that’s a GREAT feeling.”
