Where families feel understood

Our Vision is to provide safe and effective therapeutic relationships through which children and families can learn to understand themselves and build the skills necessary for success.

Welcome!

We are a pediatric occupational therapy clinic providing services for children from birth to age 18. Located in south Burnaby, we are accessible to families in the Greater Vancouver Area, including Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, and Richmond. Our pediatric occupational therapists are registered providers through COTBC and CAOT, and Registered Autism Service Providers (RASP). Kids First Pediatric Therapy is family and client-centered, where goals focus on what is important to the child and their family.

What does occupational therapy do for children, and what ages do you work with?

We evaluate function through sensory processing and neurodevelopmental frameworks, and are happy to work with anyone! We provide therapy for all kids, typically ages 0-18, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, Global Developmental Delay, delayed infant milestones, and more. We assess each child’s functional ability in relation to their personal goals, regardless of diagnosis.

How do I know if my child needs occupational therapy?

Pediatric OT means helping babies, children and youth improve their function in all areas of life! We evaluate your child's curren skill-level, and then work on building skills through play-based activities to improve success in daily activities.

Kids First OT’s can assist your child with the following:

  • Gross Motor Skills

    • Motor planning and sequencing, coordination, strength, balance, reflex integration, delayed milestones

  • Fine Motor Skills
