Carlynn graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Victoria and her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta.

Carlynn has a passion for working with children and teens and has worked with families in a variety of settings throughout her career. She believes building strong relationships with children is the key to working towards meaningful goals and is enthusiastic about incorporating play-based and creative interventions that are child-led and family-centered.  She strives to create a feeling of safety for her clients and their families and works towards a collaborative relationship where the child and their family’s concerns and priorities are heard and valued.

Her experience as an occupational therapist on a concurrent disorders unit allowed her to work closely with older children and teens who were experiencing severe mental illness and substance use challenges. She also has experience working as an occupational therapist with a community-based autism program for children aged 6-18 and their families. In both these roles, she worked closely with families, community supports, school teams, and other healthcare and social services professionals.

Carlynn has experience working with children with a range of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety disorders, Depression, Bipolar, ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, substance use disorders, and a range of intellectual, developmental, and learning disabilities.
