Éire holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University of Calgary, and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia. She is a Registered Autism Service Provider (RASP).
Éire discovered her passion for working with children with diverse abilities in 2013, when she spent a summer volunteering at a camp for children and youth with disabilities. Since then, she has worked with children with a variety of unique needs and abilities across multiple settings, including homes, schools, hospitals, clinics, community settings, and early intervention programs. She has experience working with youth from birth up to age 18, and has worked with individuals with a range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delay.
Éire believes that occupational therapy should be child- and family-centered, relationship-based, and fun! She is passionate about using play therapeutically, and strives to provide strategies, supports and interventions that are effective, enjoyable, and fit well into the lives of children and their families. Éire also believes that everyone has strengths, and is passionate about supporting children and their families to recognize and build upon existing strengths to enable positive and successful engagement in the activities that are most important to them.
